Oban’s treasured gift shop
Unearth a world of wonders at the amazing Made in Argyll gift shop. Learn more about where it all began.
Who is Made in Argyll?
My name is Janice Stewart, a knitwear crafter known for my popular brand Phoenix Fabrics of Benderloch. My passion for crafts has run deep for as long as I can remember, and I’ve taken that love to work with like-minded individuals to bring you Made in Argyll.
Over the years I have been involved in many pop-up craft shops, and after an enjoyable experience of a retail event in 2021, I decided it was time to branch out on my own.
When the premises beside the Olive Garden at the Railway Pier became available in 2017, it was clear it had great potential to fulfil the aim to bring diverse, quality yet affordable crafts to locals and visitors alike. Almost half a decade on and the shop is growing from strength to strength, now home to a range of products from crafters local to Oban and the Argyll area. Their work illustrates such incredible talent, many different skills, media, and inspiration.
As well as I, the other crafters man the shop throughout the week, allowing our customers to meet the talent that has produced our range. This offers a brilliant opportunity to learn more about each item and how it was constructed. So, why not stop by today?
