Carnoch Crafts consists of myself,Ali McCaig and my daughter Caitlin Workman.
My hobby began when I received a copper foiling stained glass starter kit as a gift. Copper foiled stained glass is a versatile way to create suncatchers and panels. After designing a piece on paper, I cut the glass shapes out with a glass cutter. I then use my glass grinder to make sure each piece fit together snuggly. After copperfoiling each section individually, I can then solder the pieces together. They are finished off with a good wash and polished up to a shine to catch the sun when hanging in a window.. They can also look great on a plain wall.
Our tartan pictures are also handmade. My daughter Caitlin draws and cuts out each outline individually by hand. She then decides which tartan to mount it on and the best fit of frame. The result is a beautiful Scottish themed picture.
